Immune Boosting Gelatin Recipes

In the times we are currently living in, it is more important than ever that we keep our immune systems strong. As moms and dads we want to be healthy so we can take care of our families. And of course, we want to keep our little ones strong and healthy, as well. Simply including Vitamin C rich delicious foods, like lemons and lemongrass tea, in our everyday diets will naturally help boost our immune systems.

Gone are the days when people thought that food had to taste bad in order to be healthy. In fact, a very popular treat for children, gelatin, can be a very healthy, immune boosting and delicious snack if you have the right recipe and make it yourself. Fortunately, we have a couple of recipes for you, so skip the store bought boxes of flavored gelatin and whip up a batch of your own! It's super easy and the kids can help! 
 

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED

  • Large bowl or 8 cup measuring cup (the measuring cup makes pouring it easier)
  • Whisk
  • Casserole dish that will hold up to 4 cups of liquid easily or several small bowls if you plan to divide up your gelatin
  • Measuring cup to measure up to 3 cups of liquid
  • Measuring spoons, teaspoon or tablespoon
  • Lid or other covering for casserole dish or small bowls

 

OLD FASHIONED LEMONADE GELATIN

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup cold water
  • 2 Tablespoons unflavored powdered beef gelatin (try to use grass fed, if available)
  • 3 Cups hot water
  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons of fresh lemon juice (to taste)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Honey (more or less to taste) or other healthy sweetener of your choice

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of cold water into the large bowl or 8 cup measuring cup.
  2. Briefly whisk in the 2 tablespoons of gelatin.
  3. Let sit for 1 minute to allow the gelatin to bloom.
  4. Then pour in the 3 cups of hot water and 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice (to your preferred taste) and whisk until the gelatin is completely dissolved. This will take approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Add the sweetener of your choice, to taste.
  6. Pour the mixture into your casserole dish or small bowls, cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm.
  7. Enjoy.

  • 2 Tablespoons unflavored powdered beef gelatin (try to use grass fed, if available)
  • 3 Cups hot lemongrass tea (steeped as strong as you prefer)
  • 2 to 3 Tablespoons of fresh lemon juice (to taste)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Honey (more or less to taste) or other sweetener of your choice

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of cold tea into the large bowl or 8 cup measuring cup.
  2. Briefly whisk in the 2 tablespoons of gelatin.
  3. Let sit for 1 minute to allow the gelatin to bloom.
  4. Then pour in the 3 cups of hot tea and 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice (to your preferred taste) and whisk until the gelatin is completely dissolved. This will take approximately 5 minutes.
  5. Add the sweetener of your choice, to taste.
  6. Pour the mixture into your casserole dish or small bowls, cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or until firm.
  7. Enjoy.
